Vaccine supplies open to all Americans and HHS Secretary gets vaccinated

The supply of H1N1 vaccine has steadily increased and is now available to everyone – and everyone is encouraged to get it. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius didn’t waste a single minute before getting the flu shot herself on Wednesday.

Until now, doses were reserved for priority groups in an effort to protect those who are most susceptible to the flu virus. Now the vaccine is widely available, and virtually every American has access to the vaccine. People in the priority groups are still encouraged to get vaccinated if they haven’t already done so.

Getting vaccinated is a good way to protect yourself and your loved ones this holiday season from the preventable H1N1 flu virus. Now is a perfect opportunity to visit a clinic near you. In many places, vaccine is available through the public health department, from physicians who have agreed to offer it, and at retail pharmacies.
